9/2/17 - On 9/1, I left the gravel  parking lot behind a Best Western Motel in Kettleman City, CA at 7 00 am since I wanted to make sure that I would go over the grapevine (a pass that is kinda long and steep) before it got too warm.  When I left at it was already 87 degrees so I knew I was in for a hot day.  Since I did not want to overheat the engine, I traveled without air conditioner so did some sweating but was tolerable.  I got to the northern part of Los Angeles around 11 00 am so felt I was on a good schedule.  Well, soon I was in heavy traffic with stop, going and then a brake for a few miles.  I was hoping after getting to the southern part of Los Angeles that the traffic would brake but that was not going to happen.  I had stop and go all the way.  It did not matter what freeway I was on.  I finally got to the Campground at 305 pm and it was 107 degrees with some humidity so very warm.  I did not have all the information that they needed so he gave me the paper to fill out later so I could at least get hooked up.  I would leveled the RV and then drank a glass of tea.  Next was electricity so I could run a fan when I sat and rested.  Then did the water and sewer and drank more tea and rested.  Needless to say, it took awhile but got it done.  I took a shower, turned on the air conditioner, ate some cottage cheese since I was not really hungry because I was drinking so much tea but I did stay hydrated.  When to bed early.

Today, I have to finish the paper work or the office.  I need to put two birthday cards in the mail and finish putting things away.  I need to do the dishes now that I have hot water.  Otherwise, am not planning much else.  Do have a dinner plans with my dear friends, Anne and Laura.
