1/28/15 - On 1/24, I drove down to Sarasota which is about 70 miles south to visit some first cousins (Ida Faye and Albert) from Kentucky that was staying for the winter.  I had no idea they were in town so we had a very nice visit.  After my visit there, I went over to another first cousins house (Esther Miller) for a fresh fish fry dinner with about 10 other cousins and an aunt and uncle.  Attending were: Uncle Walter, Mary Jane, Aunt Inez, Esther, Lloyd, Mary Grace, Norman, Gertie, Adin and Sue.  I am not a big fan of fish but however those were fried which including shark and whiting fish were very good.  Later 4 of us decided to play some games so it was after 11:00pm before I got back to Largo.

1/25 - was very uneventful.  The sun was shining and I did try to set up a little table and chair and sit in the sun to read but it was still rather chilly so did not last too long.  1/26 - we explore the town of Seminole and found a AAA office and got a lot of information for our trip toward the west.  We also found a nice produce market and did some grocery shopping.

1/27 - we went to see the movie Tak3n.  It was a good movie.  We took our daily walk around the Largo Shopping mall. Since it is rather cool, we have not been able to go to the beach.

Today is another day to just stay around here.  Will only get a high temperature of 62 degrees!!

1/23/15 -  On 1/20 we went to see a movie since there is a theatre here which has $5 movies during the week and before 3:00pm. 1/21, in the morning I had an appt for an RV technician to check out the hot water heater since we could only use the electricity part of it and not the propane part of it.  He determined it was the circuit board.  In about 1/2 hour things were repaired.  Since it was a beautiful day, we went to the beach at Indian Rocks Beach in Largo in the afternoon.  We set up chairs and the umbrella and settled in to doing some reading.  We stayed until a little after 4:00 when the wind picked up and it got a little chilly.

On 1/22, I got outside to see hot water running out from underneath the RV.  I about had a fit.  My neighbor came over and took a look and decided on certain parts that I would need and then he would put the new items in. Aunt Esther stated that she would make some phone calls to see if we could find the part since I had a lunch date with Coleman and Judy (co-worker from Inland East Clinic) and had a wonderful visit.  It had been quite sometime that I had seen them.  They now live in Boston for the summer and Largo for the winter.  When I returned, I learned that we might not be able to get the part but then my neighbor came over with another number.  Sure enough they had the part and we took off.  When we returned, my neighbor came over and within a short time, he informed me that he felt the RV technician had probably broken the thermostat when putting in the circuit board. Anyway, we are totally fixed for now!!

1/23, we took off and went to the St. Petersburg's pier which we learned the building was closed since they are planning to tear it down and re-build.  We walked the whole pier, stopped at a picnic table and ate our sandwiches and then decided to try and find John's boardwalk.  We found it and walked the board walk, did some shopping and then got back to Largo since we are expecting some storms tonight but so far still dry.

1/2/15 - Aunt Esther and I did not do much the last week because it as been rather cool.  When we returned to Largo, I did make contact on 1/15 to a repairman to take a look at the water heater.  We have hot weather via electric but not via propane and before we head back on the road, I want to make sure everything works.  On 1/16, John came out but he was absolutely useless.  He kept walking around the RV and then taking time out for a smoke!!  We finally got the maintenance book out and found the fuse box but that was not the problem.  John joggled some wires and lo and behold, it ignited and stayed on.  He then decided I should only use it when dry camping so turned it off after about 1/2 hour.  I also inquired regarding the water pump when dry camping and he did give me that information.  He changed a faucet in the kitchen.  He was an idiot and after $140 later, I finally sent him on his way!!

Over the week end, we learned that Aunt Kay had sent a box to Sarasota for us so we made plans to drive to Sarasota on Monday (1/19).  I talked with my neighbor regarding my problem because I still did not have hot water using propane.  He took a look, wiggled some wires and told me he felt it might be the circuit board and directed me to a RV repair place.

1/19 - Aunt Esther and I left for find the RV repair place before heading to Sarasota.  We finally found the place to learn there might be various problems and before purchasing the circuit board and they had an appointment with someone else in the same RV park and would like to check it out before charging me for the board.  The appointment has been scheduled.  We headed for Sarasota, had lunch with Aunt Martha and Wilbur, picked up the packaged, shopped at Detweilers produce barn, and found a special homemade spice.  We stopped off a few minutes to visit Aunt Inez before heading back to Largo.

1/13/14 - Aunt Esther and I ran some errands in Sarasota today after Aunt Martha's husband arrived into town.  We arrived back in Largo around 6:15pm.  We have unpacked, had some dinner and now are just relaxing.

1/11/15 - on 1/10 we went back to Aunt Martha's place since her son Dan was going to be leaving to return to Chicago.  She had some relatives stop by for a quite visit.  Later in the afternoon, I had a cousin and his wife (Jonas and Betty Bontrager) stop by at Aunt Martha's for a short visit and then we had plans to go out for dinner.  Aunt Martha and Aunt Esther decided to come with us so it was a very nice time. They took us over to their house so we could see it and then drove us around the neighborhood for a few minutes before returning back to Aunt Martha's house.

1/11 - This morning the three of us went to church and then we had leftovers for lunch.  Aunt Martha is taking a nap, Aunt Esther is reading a magazine and I am blogging and checking in regarding the football games since Aunt Martha's husband has to set up the TV and he won't be here until Tuesday so the internet will work.

1/9/15 - I unpacked and then re-packed for Sarasota since we were meeting my first cousin and aunt around 4:00pm.  (Cousin is Dan and aunt is Martha).  Aunt Martha had not been feeling well but is doing better and it had been determined that someone should be in the house with her so Aunt Esther and I offered to be of assistance.  We will be here until Tuesday (1/13) when her husband will arrive to Sarasota.  We went out for dinner and since Aunt Martha does not have a lot of room, Aunt Esther and I went to another relatives house (Esther Miller) for the night.
1/7/14 - The funeral was at 10:00am and was well attended.  Later in the afternoon, we went to visit a gentleman  (Perry Miller) that I learned had attended the same elementary classes that I did!! We had a nice visit.  Later, I had dinner with uncles and cousins at the Der Dutchman.  Attending were Allen, Connie, Paul, Martha, Val, Anna, Valerie, Grace, Luke and Neva.  We also had a nice visit.  It was good to see every one.  At times, I still can't believe that Leah is gone but from what I understand from the family, she had been in a lot of pain for sometime.

1/8/14 - Due to the bitter cold, we decided  to have lunch at the airport in Columbus.  We arrived at 1:35pm for a 2:57pm flight to Chicago.  We soon learned that we were delayed but not sure how long.  We went and had lunch.  We then finally got ready to board the flight when we learned that Chicago had closed the airport because of cold and blowing snow.  So they delayed the flight some more.  It was already 3 hours late and now we will not make the connection out of Chicago to Tampa.  We call American Airlines and got re-booked from Columbus to Miami and then Miami to Tampa.  We were now leaving at 6:05pm.  Now the Miami flight has been delayed and we have been informed that we would miss the connection to Tampa and would have to spend the night in Miami.  I got on the phone and got us a reservation for a motel room when we arrive.  Then at 6:00pm, the Chicago flight was finally boarded so we ran over to that gate to see if we could get back on that flight to then learn that Chicago airport was letting some flights land but no flights were leaving so we would have to spend the night either in Chicago or Miami.  All we could think about is to get to warmer weather and we just wanted to fly south so we finally left after 7:00pm for Miami.  We got into Miami and then decided to check and see if the last flight to Tampa had left and lo and behold, it was delayed by an hour so we ran to that gate and soon we had boarding passes for the flight to Tampa.  I then cancelled the motel room and we finally landed in Tampa at 12:15am and of course I had been in touch with my aunt and she did come and pick me up at 12:30am!!
1/10/15 - On 1/3 was just a day spent around the RV and found a post office to mail a baby afghan and then found a great pie shop and of course had to buy some samples.

1/4 - I got a call early in the morning informing me that a first cousin of mine that is also short in statue had died in surgery.  It was quite a shock for me since I did not realize how ill she had been.  I then notified my siblings and pondered as to whether I wanted to make arrangements to fly to central Ohio.  After some discussion and notifications from other first cousins, it was decided that 3 of us from the Florida area would be attending the funeral.

1/5 -  I then spent some time on the internet trying to find the best schedule and the best fare.  The funeral was planned for Wednesday (1/7).

1/6 - Mary Grace, Esther and I left on Tuesday morning at 7:34am for Columbus, Ohio.  We arrived about an hour late since there was some issues in Chicago.  We were picked up by Alma Detweiler and had some dinner at the church and attended the calling hours.  It was EXTREMELY cold and blowing snow.

1/2/15 - On 12/27, we went back to Santa Maria Island but the restaurant had a gas issue was closed all afternoon but informed us that they should be opened by 6:00pm so we decided to stay around.  Of course then there was no sunset over the Gulf but it did not matter since the way the restaurant sat, we could not have seen the sunset anyway. We had  a nice dinner.

12/28, 12/29 were uneventful.

12/30, we decided that we should eat at the restaurant at the campground.  They were really busy all day even though it was rainy off and on most of the day.

12/31, we did laundry and got some things put away for moving to Largo.  We tried to stay up until midnight but missed it.

1/1/15 - we said our good byes, unhooked and drove the 40 miles northwest to Largo.  We were able to be hooked up by 1:15pm.  Had some lunch and then took a drive up the main street.  In the evening, I did some research on google to see where somethings are located.

Today, we walked part of the campground, checked mail and now plan to go get some groceries.
