03/27/19 - This morning I defrosted the freezer since the ice maker could not make ice because of the build up.  I ate some lunch and then decided I needed to get some errands done.  I finally had to buy some groceries.  Aunt Esther had left alot of food for me before she left Texas.  I got a lot so probably won't  have to go again for a little while but am not planning much activity since a cold front is coming in with alot of wind and then thunderstorms so will just watch the world go by for the next few days.

03/26/19 - This morning I got up at 6:50 am and was out the door by 7:15 am heading for Harlingen to get my income taxes done.  I got there at 8:10 am and there was already a line and us old people got chairs out to sit in line since they don't open until 9:00 am.  I was about the 10th in line and was  told they take a total of 30 a day so knew that I was OK.  Just before they opened the door a representative came out and told all the people in line who were on the list would start a new line and would be seen first. Well, now I am about the 20th in line.  I  learned that those on the list had been there the day before and before 10:00 am could go on  a list and be assured that they would be helped the next day.  We finally got in, I got my clip board, completed the form and waited. I was finally called at 11:00 am.  I was soon informed that I didn't really need to file since I would not be getting a refund or would need to pay.  I explained that if I file Federal and then the State of Arizona, I would get a refund of $25.  Then I learned that they will not file state taxes because Texas does not have a state income tax and they will not file for other states!!!  Anyway, she did put me back into the AARP system since my information did not carry over from last year because of all the new tax laws.  What a mess.  Now, I think I will  do some research and see if I can find a program on the internet that will let me do it for free because if I have to pay money to get it done, it won't be worth it.  I will work on it tomorrow.  Today, it has been raining a little off and on, very cloudy and much cooler.

03/19/19 - This morning Aunt Esther and I re-arranged the RV for single living.  We changed bed sheets, put the couch back in order, she put things away so I would not have to climb,  empty trash and had some lunch and then left for the Brownsville, Texas  airport a little at 12 pm.  Her flight was out at 2:20 pm but she was flying basic coach so did not have a seat assignment so wanted to be there a  little earlier.  It was alittle over 20 miles so was an easy drive.  Since I have been home, I worked on a puzzle, ate some dinner and now am planning to play on the computer after this blog.  It is slowly starting to warm up but still have heat going in the RV because there is no sun.

03/12/19 - This morning Aunt Esther and I got up a little after 6:30 am since we were driving to Harlingen, Texas which is about 40 miles west of Port Isabel.  I learned there was an AARP office there that did income taxes.  They do not let you make an appointment and I was informed that the hours were 9 am to 1 pm, Mon, Tues, Wed.  I wanted to make sure we went early enough since they only take 30 people per day and  I did not want to drive that distance and then be turned away.  I was unable to find the address in the GPS so then I started to use Google Maps but the GPS system came and went as we were driving.  I remembered that in Sarasota, Florida they AARP office was in the Library so I googled the Harlingen Public Library and soon learned the AARP office was using rooms in the Library.  We got there at 8:20 am and there were only 4 people in line so I was quite happy.  Several other people came and when 9 am rolled around and no one opened the door, one of the individuals in line decided to go read the monthly calendar posted on the door.  We learned that AARP was not listed for this whole week.  AARP was listed the next week.  I had a phone number so called to see if things had changed and was told that they could not rent the rooms during spring break/Texas week.  What a mess.  Spring break down here is very real since we are only about 3 miles from South Padre Island.  We then stopped at Walmart and they were so busy with all these college students whose carts were full of junk food and drinks!!  It is very windy tonight and has cooled off but is still comfortable.

03/04/19 - 3/3, In the afternoon, we went to the flea market in Port Isabel for a few minutes and then to a farmer's market on South Padre Island.  It was small but had some vegetables, fruits and then on and ends. There was a stand that makes their own goat cheese and I almost got some but didn't.  Every thing at farmer's markets are so much more expensive but I do realize they are fresh.

Today, it is very cold (high of 42 degrees) and very windy so will be home all day.  I do have to brave the elements and go pay the rent for the next month.  Otherwise, I will be staying in!
