San Diego

6/25/14 - Since my last blog, I have been helping my brother and sister-in-law on the farm.  My brother got a week old calf so I have had fun helping (only a little) and then picked some more peas.  On Sunday we had a nice lunch and I made blueberry dessert.

On 6/24/14 - I left Milford, Delaware for a Metro stop in the Washington D. C. area and met my nephew Lem who then took me to the Baltimore airport.  I left Baltimore at 12:50pm and we flew to a rainy Detroit.  I had about an hour lay over and then a 4 hour flight to San Diego.  We got to San Diego at 5:30pm and I went to the rental car, put on my extensions and headed for my friend's house.  Got there around 7:15pm.  We chatted for a while and then had a great dinner.  I am now off to a dentist appointment and then will stop in at my former employer for some paperwork and then have an appointment at 1:00pm.

6/18/14 - The family reunion was very successful.  On Monday after everyone left, my niece Deborah and I did a lot of cleaning up.  On Tuesday, I did a lot of laundry and then late afternoon my nephew Weston came by and we took the RV to a dump station and got everything cleaned out and also got more water for the water tank.  When I got back to my brother's house, we did some measuring and then decided the best place to put the RV since it will sit until July 7th when I am taking it in for some minor repairs. I went to a little birthday party cook out which was attended by my nephew Weston.   My brother bought a cute little calf to raise and I helped with his bedding.  It was very interesting.

 Today, I did some clean up in the RV, picked peas and got some onions of his garden.  I went out for dinner with my niece Christina and her family including her grandmother.  We had a very nice time.

Delaware

6/13/14 - We got up this morning and had breakfast and then headed out of Hagerstown.  Joy decided to drive until lunch time and then I would finish the drive to Delaware but when we stopped for lunch we realized that we were only about 45 minutes away so she drove us into to Delaware and we arrived at 1:15pm.  It has been a good trip.  Tonight we had a lot of the family arrive and we are expecting more tomorrow.  I have the RV sitting at my brother's house but it will need some repair (minor) so hopefully sometime next week I will be able to take care of some of it.

Maryland

6/12/14 - This morning we left London, Ohio around 9:10am and started east.  Our goal was either Breezewood, Pennsylvania or Hagerstown, Maryland.  We drove in rain off and on all day.  We had lunch just after crossing into Pennsylvania. Joy decided that she wanted to try and drive and we were able to set up the steering wheel and seat without taking off the extensions.  When we do a lot of freeway traveling, we are able to use the cruise controls so that makes it a lot easier.  We did have a few heavy rains but always drove out of them rather quickly.  We then decided that we could drive to Hagerstown so we stopped for gas and then found a WalMart parking lot.  We got set up, made some dinner, made some phone calls and then went to WalMart to get some ice cream for dessert.  Soon it was time to get the kids to bed and Joy and I are both working on the computers.  She is trying to get the NBA final game from off the internet but is having some difficulty.  Tomorrow, we should arrive in Delaware at my brother's house around 2:00pm. 

Ohio

6/11/14 - I have been in West Lafayette with my niece Joy and her family since Monday (6/9).  She does not get very good reception for the internet so I did not do any blogging.  On Monday, Joy and I went back to the RV with some stuff and then ran errands getting ready to travel on Wednesday.  On Tuesday at noon, we went back into town and moved the RV from WalMart to Menard's since I could only be at WalMart for 48 hours.  We then also added more stuff.  On Tuesday evening, we went to her son's little league game and then this morning left for London, Ohio around 9:00am.  We drove in some rain but was off and on.  Traveling went well.  We stopped around noon at a rest stop for lunch and then drove on in and arrived at 2:00pm.  We then set up the RV with just electricity.  We had some family stop by to say "HI", had dinner and then did some visiting.  Now it is midnight and need to get to bed since our goal is to leave in the morning no later then 9:00 since we have a full day of traveling.  We are going to try and do 365 miles which is an hour longer than what I usual plan but will make traveling on Friday a little better since our goal is to get to Delaware by around 2:00pm.

6/8/14 - There was a nice slow rain most of the night but this morning it was clearing up.  Sue came over and we went out of breakfast. We had a nice time.  She then made sure my turning signals and brake light was working and I took off for West Lafayette about 10:45am.  The first half of the trip was on a two lane road and it was rather windy so was a little slower but then some of the road was four lane so that went a little faster.  There was no rest area stops or big gas stations so I drove into Lafayette and parked in a big tire company for lunch and called my niece to get further directions.  She gave me wonderful directions and I found Walmart and got settled in at 2:30pm.  I did some research regarding our trip to Delaware and discussed some things with my brother.  My niece will  come out tomorrow and pick me up to go back to her house for the day.

I had a very close and wonderful friend from Chicago visit me tonight and we had dinner in the RV which was great.  It was so good to catch up with him and we had such a nice visit.  He will return to Chicago tomorrow. 

Moved out today

5/7/14 - This morning I met Sue at the parking lot at WalMart in Goshen, Indiana.  We parked her car and then took my car back to Eby's Campground.  We did all the necessary things to get the RV and car ready to move.  For some reason we were too weak to get the sewer hose off the attachment so got maintenance to help us.  Of course, it took him about 2 seconds.  We then took off, put gas in and arrived at Walmart around 1:30pm.  We went for some barbeque chicken for lunch, visited with one of Sue's sister-in-laws and then went and got my Aunt Kay since she really wanted to see the RV.  She uses a walker all the time so I was not sure if she really could get up the steps but because there were enough handles for her to hold on to, she felt she could.  She did excellent in getting in and walked along the furniture to see all of it.  She then informed Sue and I that she had a grocery list and could we shop at Walmart.  Of course, we shopped, then took her home and came back to the RV for a while, decided to have some ice cream for dinner and now I am in for the evening.   

Indiana

6/5/14 - I have been quite busy since I arrived in Indiana.  I have visited friends and relatives.  My Aunt Esther  have been helping my Aunt Kay with some of her things at her house.  We brought in lunch, dusted, vacuumed, did her and our laundry and ran errands for her.  Was quite a busy day.  We did some sightseeing in the Goshen, Middlebury and Shipshewana.  We found a wonderful donut shop but also had a little store with lots of baked goods.  On 6/4, we got afternoon tickets and went to a play named "Half Stitched".  It was really cute.  Today, did some cleaning in the RV and learned my vacuum cleaner was not working so borrowed one and will finish cleaning tomorrow and start to get things ready to move the RV since I have to be out of the park by noon on 6/7.
