3/27/14 - Flew back from Cleveland to Phoenix last night.  Left Cleveland at 18 degrees and 4 inches of snow.  Before I left, I cleaned off the stairs and the front door of her house and left with a hat, gloves, scarf and winter coat!!  Arrived into Phoenix around 8:45pm with a light breeze, hat off, gloves and scarf off and winter coat opened!!  Today, I empty out the suitcases, learned where the water leak is in my storage area and have an appointment tomorrow afternoon to repair all of that.  Also, have a flat back tire on the car and my neighbor has an air compressor and was going to blow up the tire so I can get it repaired at a tire shop when he learned his son had borrow the compressor but came back later and told me that he would pump up the tire first thing in the morning so I can repair that and get some groceries.   After all of my repairs, I am going to my friend Kari's house for dinner.  She lives in Scottdale which is a good half and hour from here.

I paid rent for another month but will be heading east at the every end of April or the first of May.  It is great to be back in WARM weather!!

Progress in Cleveland

3/20/14 - My Aunt Esther is making so much progress since we started physical therapy on 3/11.  She has had 4 sessions and now is only using the walker to walk and a crutch to go up and down stairs.  She is still having the problem of bending the knee and so that is the next hurdle in physical therapy.  I do feel so much better in leaving her alone when I return to Phoenix on 3/26.  We have actually had some nice sunny weather and a couple of days where it hit the 50 degree mark.  Of course, after so much cold, it feels like summer but it will be nice to be back to warmer weather.  Have lots of things to get done in Phoenix before I head out for the east coast.

Today need to do some house cleaning and then we plan to go see a movie.  3/21, have plans with her son Michael to go out for dinner.

3/9/14 - My aunt had her orthopedic appointment on Friday and we learned that she was healing well and we would be starting physical therapy right away.  Our goal is to get her in crutches and able to drive by the time I leave on 3/26.  We have had some sunny weather and even got up in the 30's and 40's and then a couple of days of snow but we had not had much snow for the past couple of weeks.  Yesterday, friends of hers came and pick us up and we went to a casino for a couple of hours and then out to eat.  It was a lot of fun.  I found a penny machine that let me do one penny at a time!!  In the 2 1/2 hours that I played, I lost $6.00 so one knows I am very conservative when it comes to my money.  We had dinner at Applebee's and by the time we got home around 7:30pm, I sure was glad I was not driving because it was cold and snowy but we did not have any type of accumulation.

We are home for the day because Monday we have another busy day since my new glasses are in and we are going to pick them up and then run some other errands including grocery shopping.  We are really hoping to get an appointment for physical therapy on Tuesday and then will learn the schedule from there.  Otherwise, not much else is happening in this neck of the woods!
