01/30/17 - Today, I had an appointment with the dentist and was so hoping that they would be able to add the other two attachments on the denture and form the denture into a horseshoe but after we got the attachments done, the assistant left the room and came back and asked me if I could live without the upper denture for a couple of days because if I agree to let them take it to their lab, I would have a much more professional look.  Of course, I agreed so now, I am on soft food until Thursday.  I sure hope everything looks good.

Also, this morning when Aunt Esther got ready to take a shower, she noticed that the top of the shower is leaking. I have had some issues with that but in Delaware  I got the whole roof re-sealed but the actually shower vent is cracked in several places.  There is a guy named Bert that lives in the park and does repair work for RV'ers so today, I saw him and flagged him down and he will be able to repair it.  It will take a while since he has to order it and it is an odd shape and size.

01/29/17 - On 1/23, early in the morning, both Aunt Esther and I got notified by text that my Aunt Anne had passed away.  Of course, then phone calls needed to be made and discussions of whether  I would go with Aunt Esther to Plain City.  Of course, we needed to wait to get information regarding the scheduling of the funeral.

1/24, During some phone calls, I learned that my sister Rachel and her husband Ivan, my brother Daniel and his wife Mary Ann were planning to attend.  Of course, then I also wanted to go but because of all my dental expense, I knew I could only go if I could use frequent miles or points off the credit card.  Late in the afternoon we learned the calling hours were on Thursday and the funeral on Friday so now we are working on plane schedules.  I did learn that I could go with American miles so then wanted to coordinate with Aunt Esther's schedule.

1/25, I cancelled a dentist appointment and packed for the trip tomorrow.  Of course, I had to dig out some winter things and packing got done.

1/26, Aunt Esther and I left at 4 00am for West Palm Beach airport.  We had a reservation to park the car at the Holiday Inn near the airport and then got a shuttle to the airport.  We had a great trip to Plain City, Ohio.  We were picked up by Uncle Allen and his wife Connie and then stopped for a little lunch before going back to their house.  They soon left for the first set of calling hours at the church.  We rested a little, changed clothes and then went to the church in time for dinner that was served in the church basement for the family.  Of course, their we met alot of friends and family.  We then went to the second set of calling hours and saw more family and friends.  Back to Uncle Allen's house and off to bed.

1/27, The funeral was scheduled at 10 00am and was attended well by family, friends and the community.  After the funeral, lunch was served and soon after that lots of the family members that had travel to Plain City, were leaving so lots of hugs and good byes.  We went back to Uncle Allen's house to rest and visit and then I had a dinner date with my cousins at the Der Dutchman.  These cousins were on my step mother's side.  There were 23 of us.  It was wonderful to visit with all of them.  Of course, got to visit more with the ones closest to me but I definitely did make my rounds around the table. I had such a good time and thanks to one of the cousins that arranged all of it.

1/28, We had to leave for the airport at 6 45am since my flight was out at 8 30am but Aunt Esther's flight was not out until 11 15am so she waited at the Columbus airport.  She had a flight from Columbus to Charlotte, North Carolina and my flight was Columbus, Philadelphia, Charlotte.  We were on the same flight in Charlotte to West Palm Beach.  By the time we arrived, got the car, stopped for a sandwich, we got home at 6 30pm.

Today, we are taking it easy since it is rainy and only a high temperature of 55 degrees!!  I am also catching up on computer stuff.

01/21/17 -  When we got back from visiting Jon and his family, we learned that we had a problem with the TV dish because I had no satellite service and we worked on all the cables and everything looked good.  We then put up the antenna and could only get a couple of stations so was a little frustrating.  I could not find anyone that would even try to look at it.  So finally called La Mesa RV and finally got an appointment for 2/8/17 but we would have to take everything down and take the RV to their service address.  We then we were driving when we drove past a RV sales and service place and stopped and got a name and phone number.  I called him and he was a satellite guy and does mobile work so made an appointment.

2/18 - The gentleman came out, looked at all the cables and then decided to check the dish that was on top of the RV.  Sure even, there are two cables that connect things and one was working and one was not working but we are not sure why we have two so he disconnected the one and put the other one in the working cable and so I now have satellite service again!!  We then had time to go to a movie and it was really good.

2/21- Today at 12 00pm, I had my dental appointment for the laser procedure.  They kept telling me it won't hurt but when I got into the room, the first thing Dr. Swartz said was "i will need to give you some anesthesia".  So here comes the needle and the numbness.  They gave me a prescription for Tramadol (pain med) but I still have ibuprofen at home so decided not to fill it.  Aunt Esther stopped off at Walmart for some groceries and we had a coupon for Subway so decided to do that for dinner.  After taking the ibuprofen , I was able to put the top denture in and eat the sandwich so feel good about it.  I am so glad that it is finally over!

01/15/17 -   On 1/13, the campground planned a campfire and it is located just out the left side of the RV only about 30 feet away and the wind was blowing right toward the RV so Aunt Esther and I closed everything up to try to keep the smoke smell out of the RV and decided to go play bingo at the American Legion hall down the Fort Pierce. It was a very busy little hall but we met a couple from PA and had a good time at our table.  Of course, we did not win anything but was fun.

1/14 - We took off around 9 30am for Eustis, Florida to spend the afternoon with a first cousin Jon and his family.  We had a 2 1/2 hour drive and the we had toll road almost all the way.  It is strange to have toll roads in Florida but they do have them.  We got there around 12 30pm and they had made a reservation at a French restaurant in the next town which is Mt. Dora.  It is really a nice quaint town with a large lake.  We really had a good time.  We walked to a fantastic  little cupcake place and got some cupcakes to take back to the house.  We visited a little and then left for home.  We got back to the RV around 9 15pm.  It was a very nice day and I have attached a picture of us at the lunch table

Left to right Emily, Holly, Landon, (his children)
Tonya (wife) Jon, )Cousin) and Aunt Esther

01/12/17 - Today it was a nice day and was suppose to get up to 77 degrees so we decided to try the beach.  The wind increased enough that I decided to wear my jacket with a hood but the umbrella stayed.  We went out about 12 30pm and around 2 30pm clouds came in and it decided to rain on us.  By the time, we got things packed up, we were rather wet.  Of course, we then needed to rinse off feet and shoes and then left.  We ran a few errands before we came home.  Now to relax for the evening.

01/11/17 - On 1/10, it warmed up a little so we decided to get out and then it rained but we ended up going to a movie.  We saw "Hidden Figures" which was very good.  It was a true story about 3 black women that were really smart and working for NASA and helped with getting John Glenn up and back but everything was still very segregated at the time and the things they had to overcome until the management finally recognized them.  I didn't mean to go into all that detail.  We then ran some errands on the way home which also included a frozen custard that was great.

Today, I went back to the dentist office to see if they can adjust the denture so I can bite off when I learned that I thought the appointment was today when actually it was next Wednesday (1/18) but they were very nice and worked me in.  I had to wait almost an hour but we got it done and I just have to deal with it until I get the permanent denture.  Aunt Esther and I stopped off at a restaurant that was advertising $5 hamburgers.  We got a hamburger and one side and then plus our drink.  With tip and all my bill was $10 which is great for a meal that I was not able to finish so have enough left for lunch tomorrow.  It is trying to sprinkle a little tonight but it is only going down to 63 degrees and tomorrow should be comfortable.

01/08/17 - New Years Day was very quiet although we made pork ribs and sauerkraut.

1/2 - Decided it was time to dust, vacuum, mop floors, since we needed to change the sheets on the beds since we were swapping bedroom and living sleeping area.

1/3- We did some grocery shopping and to K-Mart to check things out since they are having a liquidation sale because they are closing the store

1/7 - I had a dentist appointment and had hoped to be cleared to start the denture process but now am informed that they need to do a laser procedure in two weeks to clear the tissue away so the implants are more exposed.  I have never had that so not sure what to expect.  We found an asian store to buy some noodles and also stopped off at Walmart so I could get a scan of white yarn to finish a lap blanket.

Today, it only reach 63 degrees so needless to say, we just stayed inside and watched some movies, did some crocheting and made eggplant parmesan and now will play on the computer and watch some TV.
