03/30/17 - Today, I had some errands to run and so this morning told myself that I could not work on the puzzle until late this afternoon when all errands were completed. Errands included the Dollar Store for two birthday cards that I missed, mailed the last box of Aunt Esther's items that would not fit in the suitcase, got the oil changed in the car and new windshield wipers, also the glass on my headlights were so bad that when driving at night it was hard to see and the guy put some transmission oil on a rug and the next thing I knew, headlight glass was really clean!! Then to Walmart for some vitamins. So late this afternoon, I did work on the puzzle for a while but need to get some computer work done so will work on it tomorrow. When I got home, I opened up the trunk to get my purchases out and opened the door to the RV so I could put the two bags in at once and left the car keys in the RV and returned to the car for my purchases when I stumbled on a weed and caught myself with the end of the trunk when the lid came down and smashed my middle and ring fingers. The lid locked itself and my fingers were stuck!! I looked around and of course no one to help and keys in the RV!! I was able to lift the end of the lid just enough to wiggle out the ring finger but the middle finger was really stuck. I finally tried one more time and just pulled really hard with skin and all coming with the finger. I cleaned it up and it and there is very little swelling so I am going to live!!

03/29/17 - Aunt Esther and I got up at 4 30am to get ready to take her to Tampa to fly back to Cleveland. We got to the airport at 6 18am for a 7 30am flight. She sent me a text that she got home safely. I have another small box to mail to her. It is very different not to have her around but I know I will adjust. It is always great to have her around. When I got back from the airport, I went back to bed since it was cold in the RV and so I waited for an hour for the sun to come out and warm things up. It got up to 82 degrees but we had a breeze so I did not even need to turn on the air. I sat around for a minute and then decided I really didn't want to do much of anything so I got a puzzle out and that took up my whole day. I did crochet a little, made ice tea and ate some left overs!!

03/27/17 - On 3/26, Aunt Esther and I went to Sarasota to a Presbyterian church for a concert that included two sisters and a guy who played the piano. The sisters have done a lot of broadway shows so most of what they sang was that type of music. It was good but would have liked some other type of music.
Today, Aunt Esther packed up some boxes of her things and mailed them back to Ohio. Otherwise, it was a quiet day.

03/24/17 - Today, I had a doctor's appointment at a walk-in/family practice clinic since Dr. Deadrick in Phoenix needed to know my blood pressure and also needed some lab work to make sure liver/kidney are still functioning well because of medications that I am taking. The office was very nice and did exactly what I needed and will fax the information to Phoenix for me. Dr. Deadrick stated that she will continue to prescribe my medications. Otherwise, quiet evening.

03/22/17 - On 3/21, I got up really late so had to hurry to make my lunch date in Sarasota with Yutzy cousins (Elton, Betty, Lee and Liz). We had a good time and a great visit.
Today, Aunt Esther and I went to Sarasota to do some shopping at a HSN outlet store and the store had a lot of different items. At was very interesting and Aunt Esther got some amazing deals on clothes and shoes. After our shopping spree, we went to Olaf Creamy for some great homemade ice cream. It was really good. Now, we are in for the evening.

03/20/17 - On 3/17, Aunt Esther and I made poncit (a Philippine dish I learned to make in San Diego), packed it up and went to Sarasota and had dinner with Aunt Martha and Wilbur. We also added vegetables and ice cream to complete the dinner. We had a great evening of food and conversation.
Today, we made another trip to the dentist in Port St. Lucie. It is 150 miles but I was having some problems with two of the "O" rings. They were partly loose and it was causing some discomfort when I tried to eat. It seemed that the longer I kept them in the better it finally got so by the time I was eating dinner, it did go better. I think the little plastic inside would shift until the implant could fit more comfortable. Anyway, we left at 10 50am for a 2pm appointment. It took about 15 minutes to change the two and refit the third one. It feels so much better. We then did some shopping, stopped or Subway sandwich and finally got home at 8pm. Time to relax!!

03/16/17 - On 3/13, we did some daily chores and otherwise was a quiet day.
3/14, We went to Sarasota for lunch and met up with Mary Grace, Alma, Esther, Aunt Esther and myself. We ate at a little cafe that had great food and was quiet so we could visit for quite a while. Alma was leaving to return to Ohio the next day. It was great catching up with them.
3/15, I discovered that I had a problem with one of the "O" rings in my upper denture so now will drive the 140 miles to Port St. Lucie to get them repaired. I have an appointment on Monday 2/20.
Today, was really cool outside so we decided to go the movies. We saw "The Shack". It was very good. I had read the book so I knew what the story was about. Now, a quiet evening at home

03/12/17 - On 3/9, we went to Sarasota to join some family for a fish fry. There was sixteen of us. Two of the ladies do a lot of fishing so we got to enjoy the fresh fish. We had beer batter fish, cole slaw, cornstarch pudding, scallop potatoes, homemade bread and strawberry jam, choice of peanut butter pie, coconut pie, key lime pie and chocolate pie. Everything was delicious. I can only eat one piece of fish and have to have more tartar sauce than fish but all the sides were great. For family who read the blog, the attendees were, host, Adin and Susie Miller, Esther and Lloyd Miller, Walter and Mary Jane Beachy, Mary Grace Young, Alma Detweiler, Norman and Gertie Detweiler, Lucy Beachy, Keith and Linda Beachy, Inez Miller, Aunt Esther and myself. It was a great evening.
3/10, the temperature got up to 82 degrees so was a little warm so Aunt Esther and I just tried to stay cool. We did run an errand to Walmart since I need to fill a prescription and we needed a few groceries.
3/11, it was another warm day so we just tried to stay cool for the day.
Today, we went to Bethel Mennonite Church, had lunch with Lonnie and Connie Miller and their family. It was really nice. This afternoon will just relax and do very little!!

03/08/17 - On 3/7, Aunt Esther and I drove out to Anna Maria Island to the city pier since there was a restaurant there and we planned lunch and also a guy who makes jewelry and I want to get some nice pink ear rings and Aunt Esther was looking for some as well. It is a beautiful drive and I just love the pier. Lunch was great and the gentleman did not have any ear rings made that I liked so he made what I wanted while I was there. It was neat to watch him make them. Across from the pier are some shops and Aunt Esther went shopping and she found a great summer dress. It was a good day.
Today, we just stayed home. I did get the covers on for the tires and did some crocheting (almost finished with the baby afghan). Now time to take it easy and play on the computer!!

03/05/16 - On 3/3, Aunt Esther and I took a little drive around the area to see where things are that we think we might need. Otherwise was a very quiet day.
3/4 - I got up and met my Kauffman first cousins at Ida Fay's house for coffee, tea, fruit, cookies and party mix. We had a very good time and it was so good to see Verna again before she leaves Monday for northern Ohio. Ida Fay then took me to a Yoder bakery so I could buy cinnamon rolls with carmel icing but they did not have any, so we drove to the Der Dutchman bakery and I got to two cinnamon rolls and then asked for a small container of more icing since there is never enough on the actually rolls. They weren't sure what to charge so I ended up paying a quarter or the icing. Here is a picture of the small container of icing
My SMALL container!!
Today, Aunt Esther and I went to Sarasota to listen to an all Men's Choir. It was very good. We are acquainted with one of the members. His name is Wilbur Kaufman for those of you who know him.
The program was at 3 00pm so the rest of the evening will be quiet.

3/2/17 - On 3/1, Aunt Esther and I prepared to leave Fort Pierce and drive to Bradenton. Every thing was going well and plans were to leave by 10 00am. We hooked up the car and when I was ready to pull out the one leveler in the back would not totally come up and so there was a warning light and buzzer going off so we worked a while to get it to go up and even a neighbor came over to help but nothing was working. On our way out, there was a RV sales, parts and services place so we stopped off there to see if they had any suggestions. They tried a jack to see if they could force it up but no luck. They suggested that we drive over to La Mesa RV because they were much bigger and maybe could give me some suggestions. I was also told that it would not be much out of my way so we drove over there to learn that they were so busy that no one had any time to even look and what I described they informed me that it would be quite the job. So we decided to do the 141 miles with the stupid buzzer constantly going off. We arrived around 3 00pm and it was 88 degrees with humidity so we got warm very quickly. We thought we could drive straight into the space since there is no one behind us but soon we got totally stuck with a tree on one side and the end of another RV on the other side, so just backed out straight and then drove around and backed in the RV. I worked on getting the RV leveled while Aunt Esther worked on the electric hook up, water and sewer. I had it all leveled with the leveler that would not work before now working when I went out to check and the ground is so soft or sandy, I dug this great big hole in the back and in the front. So soon had to start over. I covered the holes with dirt, went looking for some big rocks to put down before I put my wood on top and tried it again. The one in the front worked kinda OK (it still dug a little bit of a hole) but the back one was completely covered up. I then used the one wood from the other back leveler that I really don't need to use and so I put dirt, stones, and two wood things and it still dug some up finally enough that I was OK with it. I went back to the office to sign in and complained about the dirt but she stated they had some bricks I could use so plan to do that tomorrow since it will be alot cooler than today and further more I plan to not do much because of all the action yesterday.
Because of all the problems, I was a half and hour late for dinner plans in Sarasota that I had made a couple of days earlier. I quickly called them and informed them I would be late, took a quick shower, got dress and off to Sarasota. I met my first cousins at the Der Dutchman restaurant and had soup since I wanted a big piece of pie. They had fresh strawberry pie so I got one and bought it home for Aunt Esther. The first cousins were Albert, Ida Fay, Menno and Verna. Menno and Verna are visiting from Northern Ohio and Albert and Ida Fay live in Sarasota. It was a good evening and a little short since I was late but was good to see them even though I was so tired. Got back and soon decided to watch some TV and go to bed.
Today, it is a little warm and very hot for Aunt Esther but we have a fan going and do have a little breeze so have not started the air conditioner as of yet. Today we are expecting it to be 82 degrees with lots of humidity and tomorrow only 74 degrees. So now I plan not to do much today at all.
