04/24/18 - On 4/20, I got up and started to do some packing since Robyn will be home late this afternoon. I needed to meet Aunt Ada at 11 15 am at the church since there was a Spring Women's luncheon. We had a nice lunch and the pastor's wife was the speaker. It was very good. I then returned to Robyn's house to finish packing and making sure Cookie was fed before I left for Aunt Ada's house for the rest of the afternoon. I went home at around 4 45 pm. I didn't do much unpacking but of course put away the refrigerator stuff. Later in the evening, I noticed I had some water sitting on the floor around the commode!! I wiped it up and sure enough, I have a leak. I turned the water off for the night.
4/21, I turned on the water long enough to fill some half gallon milk cartons and then turned it off. Did some cleaning and ran some errands.
4/22, Turned the water on again to refill cartons and now the leak is even bigger!! I was able to take off the clamp and re-clamp but that didn't help either.
4/23, Called the repair man and asked for a schedule ASAP since I was tired of living out of cartons and of course no shower for the past two days and the weather is warm and I am just unhappy!! He was very good and told me he could be over in about an hour and half. I was so glad. It took about 45 minutes but I was repaired. I then learned when he put the new seal in the commode on 4/9 that he cracked a fitting so I got repaired for nothing. Now, I am all back together. Left for Aunt Ada's around 1 15 pm since we are working on a puzzle. Albertsons had ice cream on sale and she wanted me to stop and get her one. We got quite a bit done on the puzzle but this one is all flowers with colors everywhere and the pieces are cut so different so has been a challenge. We had dinner together and then back home.
Today, will clean up the bathroom since I am repaired, run some errands, check with a couple of optical shops to see how long it takes to get a prescription filled so I can make some plans or summer travel.

04/16/18 - On 4/13, I still stayed with Aunt Ada since there was a concert at church and I was not ready to drive after dark.
4/14 - Packed up and went home. Found everything OK. Did some cleaning but needed to be very careful since I can't bend over. When I dropped something I waited until I thought I was done and then on my knees to pick up everything!!
4/16, Did some packing since I am house/dog sitting for Cousin Robyn since she went to San Diego to have a little R & R since she has a very busy summer. I unloaded my stuff and then went to Aunt Ada's to start a puzzle and have dinner with her. Came back to Robyn's house before sundown since I am just learning to drive. I found some old glasses and I learned that if I look through the bifocal of the old glasses, I have perfect vision but it is a little difficult to constantly raise your head but if I really want to see something I will need to do that!!

04/12/18 - On 4/9, I ran some errands and got some things together for this next week.
4/10, I packed up half the house since I will be spending the next several days with Aunt Ada and I was told that after cataract surgery, I can't lower my head lower than my heart and she felt it was not good to put a puzzle together so I had to bring the computer, crocheting, reading to keep myself occupied. I also got some food together since I knew it would spoil before I got home. Aunt Ada had a quilting session and would not be home until around 6 30 pm so I had plenty of time to get things together. I had been sending some messages back and forth on facebook from a former employee at the office that was in town for just a couple of days. We were trying to get together but she had so many things to do but finally we did decide that I could drop by her ex-husband's apartment for a short visit. Katey drove in from North Carolina to pick up her daughter, a car and drop off her ex-husband's dog. So coming out, she traveled with a dog and going home to is towing a car and traveling with her daughter. It was so good to see her since it had been years. We chatted while she finished packing and loading since they were leaving for Flagstaff yet tonight. I got a call from Aunt Ada and she would be home at 7 00 pm. I have unloaded, started drops in my eye and watched some TV and off to bed.
4/11 - Got up at 6 00 am since Cousin Robyn will pick me up at 6 45 am. She needed to be at work at 8 00 am. I sat in her office with eye drops and water. I read, put my head down for a while, read some more than no more water after 10 00 am. We left the office at 12 10 pm to check in for surgery at 12 30 pm. I was greeted with an assistance that took my blood pressure, check oxygen level and drops in the eye. Off to the next room, on a stretcher, IV started, blood pressure again, oxygen level checked again, EKG hook up, oxygen through a cannula and asked lots of questions. Next came anesthesiology and more questions. After while, he came back and informed me that I was getting propofol through the and getting ready for surgery. I was then wheeled in to the surgical room and all wrapped up so not to move and covered up. I could hear everything but not feel anything. I soon was patched up and taken to recovery just to make sure things were good. Soon I was given some apple juice and instructions and Robyn was told to get the car and I was wheeled out with a Diet Coke in hand. I had some crackers and chips to munch on as we headed home. I also had a $2.00 coupon for a milk shake at Jack in the Box. I was really tired so did nothing the rest of the evening.
4/12 - Today, had a follow up appointment to check eye pressure and just make sure things are good. Got checked and my near sightedness has now changed to 20/25 which is great. I still will need corrective lenses for distance since they were not able to repair both. Now the problem is one eye is good seeing close and the other eye is trying to compensate to see far awhile which is not good. I have taken the one lens out of the glasses and it does seem to do a little better but not sure which eye is trying to do what so will be confusing until I get the next one done that is scheduled on 5/23. Nothing else on the schedule today.

4/8/18 - On 3/28, I had my pre-op for the cataract surgery and then went over to Aunt Ada's for the afternoon. We finished putting a puzzle together and had dinner.
On 4/1, Went to church and then back to Aunt Ada's for lunch. We had a great lunch and nice visit. We did some planning regarding my up coming surgery.
4/3, I left at 10 30 am for Tubac, Arizona to visit my friends Diane and Dick Brooks for several days. I had to stop for a bathroom break and a little walk and arrived at their house around 1 30 pm. We got settled in my bedroom with all of my things and then sat on their lovely patio for a nice visit. We had a wonderful dinner of steaks, baked potato, mushrooms, brussels sprouts and peas. It was delicious.
4/4, Diane and I went to Tucson to the De Grazia Gallery in Tucson and then had a great lunch afterwards. Was a wonderful day. That gallery sure had some interesting art. In the evening, we had some hors d'oeuvre for dinner because of the big lunch.
4/5, Diane and I went into the town of Tubac and did a little shopping and decided to get a puzzle since she also likes to do puzzles. She made a wonderful ham and pea soup for dinner and we started the 1000 piece puzzle. We did take time out to enjoy the evening with a glass of wine on the patio.
4/6, We decided not to plan anything today but work on the puzzle and I wanted to take them out for a nice Mexican dinner. It was a great day.
4/7, Diane and I finished the puzzle, sat on the patio and enjoyed watching some of the Master's golf tournament and after lunch, I started back to Phoenix. I got home at 5 45 pm. I had a great trip and a wonderful time in Tubac.
