04/30/16 - On 4/29, Aunt Ada and I went downtown and sat in on Robyn's disseration. It could only be 20 minutes long with a 5 minute question and answer time. It was very interesting and she did a great job. We met some of her mentors and professors and also met some of the individuals that will be her co-workers at University of Arizona where she will be a professor in the advanced/excel nursing program.
Today, I did a little cleaning and laundry. We finally got a little rain late this afternoon with a thunderstorm. It was really nice and now has really cooled down. We are suppose to be in the high 90's next week but still not a 100!!

4/26/16 - On 4/24, I went to church with Aunt Ada, out to dinner with Aunt Ada and Robyn and then stopped off at Michael's to look for some baby yarn since I have a friend having a baby in September. Then in the evening, Aunt Ada and I went to hear a gospel concert at church.
4/25 - I finally got my new engine batteries and it appears as if everything is working as of today!!
I sure hope so because I now need to save some money for another rainy day!!

4/23/16 - As you see on my last post I have an extra "0" in my price!!
4/18 to 4/21 I did things around the RV. I boxed up some winter clothes to make room for Aunt Ada to have space for some of her stuff when we leave in May. I finally did some cleaning, finished making baby booties with left over yarn from what I got in Delaware. I actually ended up make 4 baby afghans and 8 booties so that yarn went to good use. I am sending some to Mexico via my friend Diane who does volunteer work down there.
4/22 - I went with Aunt Ada and her friend Madelyn to a women's luncheon at the church. They were doing the Hawaiian theme. It was interesting. There was a gentleman that sang a variety of songs.

04/23/16 - Kinda forgot some dates so will just write what has been happening and not putting a date to it. I had missed an eye appointment on 4/5 so was re-scheduled about a week later but at 7:00am!! It was a visual field testing for possible glaucoma but test came back normal. I was still fussing regarding the awning and the engine batteries. The awning guy finally gave up and so the general repair guy came by and tried to manually jump the engine but no luck. After a lot of checking it was determined that I needed new engine batteries. He came on Thursday (4/21) and took one of the batteries to make sure he gets the correct ones. Of course, since it is not an emergency, I have not seen him again!
4/14 - This day was not fun and had to make a decision way too fast. I took the car into the Honda dealer for a second opinion on my transmission leak and multiple other leaks including the radiator! Was quoted once again $3100 for repairs. I then told them I had to think about it and get my finances in order and then would let them know. I was then told that just to do the diagnostic part cost me $130 but could go toward the repairs if I decide within 30 days. Then the guy talked to the service manager and I was informed that there was a $450 discount involved toward my repairs but the catch was I had to leave it NOW!! I HATED that. Aunt Ada and I talked it over and she decided to she could take me home and then when the car was ready on 4/15, she would come and pick me up. In the meantime, before the decision was made, a sales manager comes around and informs me that he can get me into another car for $12,000. I was just not ready for the hassle to put my extensions on another car, my towing equipment would have to be transferred and I have a special switch so the driver side air bag does not deploy during an accident so I finally gave up and had the repairs done.
4/15 - I got a call about 3:00pm and was told that Hilda (the care) was ready for pick up. So Aunt Ada drove over and picked me up and I went to pick up the car. Well, of course the repairs were more than $31000 so with the discount I then ended up paying the $3100.00

4/11/16 - On 4/6, I went over to Aunt Ada's so we could take the car in for a possible small oil leak to a mechanic that she uses. We dropped off the car and then went back to her house for lunch. In the afternoon, we went to a movie and then stopped by the auto shop to get the verdict. I learned that it was in the transmission and got quoted a price of $3000 for repairs. I was shocked. I told them that I would need to get second opinion before I would commit to the repairs.
4/7 - My neighbor Sally, (who is also traveling alone in an RV) came over with her awning book since mine was stuck and I could not get anyone out to look at it until Tuesday 4/12. She was concerned because the forecast was for a windy rainy storm approaching on Friday night. We read that we could somehow jump the motor to get the awning to retract but we could not reach the motor so I went two doors down to talk with Herb to see if he had a four step ladder when he informed me that there was a very good mobile awning guy around. Herb gave me the number and I called. Darrell was extremely nice and detected in my voice that I was alittle anxious because the awning was out and a storm was coming. He informed me that he lived in my area and would stopped by on his way home. Darrell had the proper equipment to jump the motor so the awning was in for the storm. That late evening, it was very windy and rainy and I was so glad for Darrell.
4/8 - Darrell came out and we had to take all kinds of things apart because I just did not have power to make the motor work but yet when he gave it power I had a good motor! Eventually, he learned that the source of power was coming from my starter battery (motor battery) and since I have been sitting in a space for the past 4 months my battery was draining. We started the engine and got the battery charged a little and then the awning would work. Since I sit more than drive, he changed the power source from engine battery to house battery and since I have been using electricity all these months. My awning has been working perfectly.
4/9 - Did some grocery shopping and then finished another baby afghan so I could take it to Aunt Ada's so we could block it on Sunday when I went over to church.
4/10 - To church and lunch with Aunt Ada and Robyn. We then blocked the afghan. In the evening, Aunt Ada and I went back to church for a concert.
Today, I am out of jail regarding the C-Pap machine. I have faithfully done by 31 days so Medicare will pay for the machine. I am beginning to feel that I am getting better quality of sleep when actually sleeping. Still taking a long time to fall asleep so will probably start with the machine but then take it off during the early morning hours. Not sure yet so time will tell!! I made some brownies to share with Herb and Sally because of their kindness, I have a great awning!!

04/05/16 - 4/2 was uneventful. On 4/3, I had been told from Louie that he was getting together with a cousin that lived in the area and then on 4/4 we would plan lunch and a trip to the airport. Louie's plans changed and he called me and wanted to know if we could do something in the afternoon and have an early dinner since he needed to be back at the hotel in the evening. So I hurried, got cleaned up and picked him up at the hotel and we went to see "My Big Fat Greek Wedding II" and then we stopped off at Chili's for a hamburger. It was nice to have the extra unplanned time with him.
4/4, Louie called to inform me that he would need to be at the airport around 1:00pm so I picked him up at 12:45pm since his hotel was not very far.
4/5 - today was very uneventful. Went to have my blood pressure taken and it was finally 120/70!! Maybe the C-Pap will help get my blood pressure down and off some meds. That would be great. I have had some difficulty that last two nights since I have sinus congestion and I found it very hard to breathe thru the mask when one is all stuffed up. Last night I learned if I stay in one position, the fluid will drift over to one nostril and then let me breathe thru the other nostril. As I look back at this post, I gave more information than necessary!!

04/02/16 - On 3/29, we had some left overs for lunch and then in the afternoon we went to the Botanical Gardens. We wanted to make sure that we stayed until after dark since there were some neat light displays. Of course, it got a little cool for me but still had a great time and the lights were beautiful.
3/30 - I lost a nose piece on my glasses so had to stop and get them repair before heading over to Aunt Ada's. We had decided to get some Arby sandwiches for lunch. I did get the sandwiches but it took longer to get the glasses repaired that they ate lunch on the run since we needed to be at Robyn's house at 11:30am. We were headed for a spring training ball game. After the game, we drove to Wickenburg. When we got there, we found a chamber of commerce and were told about a few things to see. We were rather late to visit a museum so they did not charge us but asked for a donation. We did have about 45 minutes. That museum was very, very interesting. We also saw a tree that was used as a jail. They chained the criminals to the tree. Quite interesting.
3/31 - Onita and Stan left really early in the morning so I just stayed at home for the day.
4/1 - I picked up my dear friend Louie from Chicago at the airport and took him to his hotel in Tempe. He is involved with a wedding this week end. We did have about an hour and half before he had to report in and it was great.
