06/10/20 - Today was a little bit traumatic for me so I will try to put it in words so my friends and family will know what is happening.  Deborah and I left the house at 7:20 am for a 7:45 am MRI appointment.  When I was prepped for the MRI, I had to lie on my back and then they stretched the leg.  I don't do well on my back and of course the leg started to give me excruciating pain and then it radiated to my back and I had been told that is was a 45 minute test.  They put a cushion like thing to my back but it did not help.  I was told not to move or they could not complete the MRI.  I tried all kinds of breathing methods but ended up hyperventilating and I could not take it anymore when the gentleman told me that the first part of the test was done and now he would put the dye in my vein when he also told me that my breathing was out of control.  I then refused the dye because he felt the images were good enough for the doctor to get a diagnosis.  We quit the test.  Deborah and I got home at 9:15 am and I was wore out.  So, of course ended up in the chair all day until my appointment with the orthro doctor to get the results of the MRI.

The MRI shows a large soft tissue mass on top of my femur and actually goes into part of my pelvis.  Also, showed a non displaced fracture of the femur that is ruled pathologic.  Therefore, I now can not put any weight on that leg so Deborah is going to try and teach me to use a walker.

I have now been referred to orthopedic oncologist in Philadelphia which is between an hour and half to two hours away.  Not sure when I will hear from the doctor's office but will try to be a little aggressive to get started on the treatment.  So back in the recliner I go for most of the time except for times I have to use the walker.
