6/25/14 - Since my last blog, I have been helping my brother and sister-in-law on the farm. My brother got a week old calf so I have had fun helping (only a little) and then picked some more peas. On Sunday we had a nice lunch and I made blueberry dessert.
On 6/24/14 - I left Milford, Delaware for a Metro stop in the Washington D. C. area and met my nephew Lem who then took me to the Baltimore airport. I left Baltimore at 12:50pm and we flew to a rainy Detroit. I had about an hour lay over and then a 4 hour flight to San Diego. We got to San Diego at 5:30pm and I went to the rental car, put on my extensions and headed for my friend's house. Got there around 7:15pm. We chatted for a while and then had a great dinner. I am now off to a dentist appointment and then will stop in at my former employer for some paperwork and then have an appointment at 1:00pm.

I had written a long comment and it disappeared! I guess I'll try again. First of all, it was NOT only a little that you helped. I've been worried ever since you left that you worked too hard. That was a LOT of peas, and it was so warm! Plus all the other things that you did. Pretty soon you will say like your brother says, "I have to go away to get a rest!"
Our neighbor brought over some fresh picked raspberries tonight, I don't really know what to do with them. They are not our favorites. Maybe I will save them and use them in one of the freezers of ice cream on the 4th. Do you like them? I've made another peach cobbler and it is all gone. Rachel brought a friend home from school and Rachel came home HUNGRY. I've cooked a whole bunch this weekend, and we are getting ready for a potluck at church tomorrow.
It is almost ten-thirty and Daniel is out getting food for a family and taking air conditioners to the church for the trustees. He shouldn't be going, but he felt like he needed to. He came in from working all day and his hand was hurting. It is probably from overuse, but he took some Ibuprofen and rested a bit and then headed out again. He did watch part of the world cup game today. Charis spent the night last night. She was in the garden with Daniel last night, pulling up carrots. She loves fresh carrots and it is almost a job to keep her from eating them before they are even washed, she is so eager to eat them.
It looks like your friends are so glad to see you, Lena, and I am so happy for you. I hope the week there is a great break for you and that you can make all the connections you hoped to. Hurry back, though. We miss you. We've had some really bad thunderstorms since you left, but it seems like your home has been just fine. I don't know that anyone has been in, though. Daniel will check it one of these times.
Take care-
~Mary Ann
